Greater Shepparton City Council is offering one scholarship of $3000 to a Division One Nurse to assist with completing Maternal and Child Health Nursing studies.
Council’s Director Community Kaye Thomson said applicants also needed to be registered midwives.
“Council is offering this scholarship to assist a midwife to complete further specialised training allowing them to work in the Maternal and Child Health field,” Ms Thomson said.
“Maternal and Child Health employment offers the opportunity for varied clinical activities related to the delivery of the Maternal and Child Health Key Age and Stage Framework, as well as provision of additional family support where indicated.
“I encourage any division one nurses who hold a midwifery qualification who are interested in pursuing a career in Maternal and Child Health, to apply for the scholarship.”
Scholarship recipient Stacey East said the MCH scholarship allowed her to focus on study and alleviated some of the financial stress related to study and also supporting a young family throughout.
“Access to the MCH scholarship was very important in my decision to undertake these studies. I am extremely thankful for the support and opportunities as a result,” Ms East said.
Individuals who are keen to work independently, but also within a broader team, who have a commitment to quality customer service, and effective communication skills are invited to apply.
