Greater Shepparton City Council has released its Movement and Place Strategy - Draft Challenges and Opportunities paper for community feedback.
The Greater Shepparton Movement and Place Strategy (MAPS) will provide a comprehensive understanding of the existing and future transport requirements. The strategy will take a holistic approach to the provision of an improved transport system for various modes including walking, cycling, public transport, driving and freight movement.
The Draft Challenges and Opportunities Paper summarises relevant policies, strategies and documents; assesses existing transport issues and challenges for Shepparton; and identifies potential opportunities to consider in the strategy development phase.
Greater Shepparton Mayor, Cr Dinny Adem encouraged people to provide feedback on the paper.
“This strategy, once completed, will provide a prioritised list of transport projects which will help guide Council’s long term investment planning,” Cr Adem said.
“We need people to take the time to provide feedback, so we can make sure we are accurately capturing the transport and place needs of our community now and into the future.”
Community members will also have the opportunity to attend a drop in session on Wednesday 1 February between 1pm and 3pm at the junction of Maude Street Mall/ Fryers Street to find out more about the project and provide feedback directly to the project team.
