Temporary road closure - Lenne Street, Mooroopna
Posted on
Wednesday 4th of February, 2026,
Greater Shepparton City Council would like to advise that construction of the stormwater rising main will begin along Lenne Street, Mooroopna on Thursday 5 February 2026.
In Summary
Stormwater drainage upgrades along Lenne Street, Mooroopna will begin Thursday 5 February 2026.
Works include trenching and boring under Toolamba Road to install a stormwater rising main as part of Stage 2 of the Lenne Street Drainage Upgrade.
Lenne Street will be closed between Toolamba Road and Howe Street from Thursday 5 February, until Wednesday 25 February 2026, with a detour via Howe Street in place.
Access to properties will be maintained, and residents are asked to follow traffic signage and take care near the site.
These works form part of the Stage 2 Lenne Street Drainage Upgrade and will involve trenching and boring works along Lenne Street and under Toolamba Road in Mooroopna. This will enable the installation of the stormwater rising main, facilitating stormwater to be pumped from Smyth Reserve to the outfall on the east side of the railway track on Toolamba Road.
As a result, Lenne Street will be closed to traffic from Toolamba Road to Howe Street from Thursday 5 February until Wednesday 25 February 2026. A detour will be in place advising traffic to utilise Howe Street, Mooroopna as an alternative route.
Motorists and pedestrians are asked to obey all on site signage and direction provided by traffic controllers. Access to properties will be maintained during the works, however detours may be required. The community is asked to take care and be aware of the traffic changes in place.
Council thanks the community for their patience and cooperation as we complete these critical upgrades.
