Regional Rural Land Use Strategy, 2010
The Campaspe, Greater Shepparton and Moira Regional Rural Strategy (RRLUS) was adopted by the Council at the Ordinary Council Meeting of 16 November 2010.
The RRLUS was prepared by Parsons Brinkeroff (PB), RM Consulting Group and others on behalf of the Greater Shepparton City Council, Moira Shire Council and the Shire of Campaspe. The study area comprises land within the rural areas in each of the municipalities.
The objective of the RRLUS is to secure and promote the future of agriculture across the region through modifications to the Greater Shepparton Planning Scheme, the Campaspe Planning Scheme and the Moira Planning Scheme.
Amendment C121 to the Greater Shepparton Planning Scheme implements the key recommendations of the RRLUS. The amendment:
- introduces three new categories of the Farming Zone;
- includes modified subdivision and dwelling entitlements within each Farming Zone category; and
- applies the Rural Conservation Zone to conserve areas with high environmental and landscape values.
Amendment C121 was approved by the Minister for Planning on 19 September 2013.
