Strategic Planning

The Strategic Planning Team is responsible for the development of strategies, policies and frameworks to ensure that planning, investment and decision-making is relevant to the needs of the community and provides a sustainable base for future generations.

The use, development, protection and conservation of land in the City of Greater Shepparton is governed by the Greater Shepparton Planning Scheme which sets out the objectives, policies and provisions to regulate the use and development of land.

The Council is constantly reviewing the Planning Scheme and developing new policies and strategies to ensure that planning, investment and decision-making for Greater Shepparton is continually relevant to the municipality.
