Greater Shepparton City Council is urging residents to continue to stay safe and holiday at home this Easter holiday period by following State and Federal Government restrictions.
Currently, Victoria is under level-three restrictions, which means public gatherings of more than two people – excluding household members - are banned. There are only four acceptable reasons for leaving your home, which are:
People aged over 70, aged over 65 with pre-existing conditions, or Indigenous people aged over 50 with pre-existing conditions should stay home wherever possible for their own protection. Fines are now being issued in Victoria for breaches of the state’s level-three restrictions.
This Easter is going to be vastly different to what many members of our community have experienced before, and it is important to remember physical distancing does not have to mean disconnection.
There are plenty of video calling apps or online messaging hubs available, so please make sure to keep in touch with your family and friends throughout the Easter holiday period, and get creative with how you pass the time at home.
Ways to stay entertained this weekend include:
While we may be holidaying at home this Easter, it doesn’t mean that we can’t have fun. It’s time to get creative in how we can be entertained and catch up with friends and family.
For more ideas on how you can spend your Easter this weekend, or to share your own ideas, keep an eye on Council’s Facebook page.
