Greater Shepparton will be busy with activities this October in celebration of the Victorian Seniors Festival.
The Victorian Seniors Festival runs annually throughout the month of October, celebrating the more than one million Victorians aged 60+ who make such a valuable contribution to our society.
The festival is focussed on getting out and about in your local community, with more than 2,000 events and activities to be held around the state for older Victorians.
A total of 32 activities and events will be held in Greater Shepparton for local seniors.
They will include a Cultural Bus Tour to local places of significance of our multicultural communities, Barefoot Bowls, Festival Country Concert, Seniors Gala Dinner, Movie Matinee, River Heritage Walk and Talk, Seniors Trivia Afternoon and many more.
Greater Shepparton City Council Mayor, Cr Kim O’Keeffe, encouraged seniors to get involved.
“The Victorian Seniors Festival helps our seniors stay involved and engaged in our community,” Cr O’Keeffe said.
“Council is proud to support this wonderful event, which not only provides great entertainment, but also encourages our Greater Shepparton seniors to live healthy and active lifestyles.”
Greater Shepparton City Council’s Seniors Festival Booklet contains details on all 32 events as well as more information on the Victorian Seniors Festival.
The booklet can be found online at greatershepparton.com.au, at Council’s Welsford St Offices and at local community hubs and agencies.
All event bookings open Tuesday 17 September 2019, and each closing date can be found in the booklet or on Council’s website, so don’t miss out.
