The Greater Shepparton Family Violence Prevention Network (GSFVPN) will be launching the 16 Days of Activism in Greater Shepparton on the 25th of November which is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women Shepparton.
The Greater Shepparton Family Violence Prevention Network is encouraging all members of the Greater Shepparton community to support the 16 Days of Activism Campaign and will be commencing with a media launch on the 22nd of November 2018 at Latrobe University Shepparton Campus at 1.30pm.
The GSFVPN will be at Shepparton Spring Car Nationals with a pop up work shop and information available to highlight gender equity within the automotive and trade industries and increase practical automotive skills with GoTafe student’s providing demonstrations on the day.
To expand on the communities’ knowledge and awareness of the drivers of gender inequity and violence, GSFVPN is partnering with Women’s Health Goulburn North East host a Drivers of Change - Business Breakfast on the 30th of November at the Park Lake Shepparton. This is a free event and attendees will gain insight of the impact of Gender Inequity and how to create a workplace culture that values equality.
The media launch will unveil the Respectful Relationships Art Exhibition at Latrobe University’s Shepparton Campus, and will display works created by Greater Shepparton secondary and primary students illustrating their interpretation of the role that gender stereotypes can plan in our community. The art pieces will also be judged by local artist Liz Arcus and winners announced at the media launch on Thursday 22nd of November.
The GSFVPN is partnering with Shepparton Park Run on Saturday the 1st of December 2018, with Primary Care Connect being the major sponsor for the event. The event will raise awareness in relation to the impact of violence against women and children and make a stance against violence in our community. The emphasis of the campaign this year is ‘Don’t be a Bystander’ #Callitout
