Tatura Skate Park vandalised by graffiti
Posted on
Wednesday 13th of August, 2025,
Greater Shepparton City Council is disappointed by the recent acts of vandalism at the newly opened Tatura Skate Park.
Only months after its official opening, the facility has been defaced with graffiti, undermining the hard work and investment that went into creating a space for the community to enjoy. The skate park, located in the heart of Tatura, was designed to provide a safe and inclusive environment for young people and families to gather, be active, and connect.
Council’s Manager Parks, Sport and Recreation, Janelle Bunfield, said the damage was deeply disappointing and disheartening.
“It is disappointing to see this kind of damage to a facility built for the community, this skate park was developed to give young people a vibrant, safe space to be active and social,” she said.
“To see it vandalised so soon after opening is incredibly frustrating. We have reported it to our graffiti removal team for action, and we will be working quickly to restore the site.”
Council is currently allocating resources to clean and restore the site, which diverts time and funding away from other important community projects. The graffiti not only damages public property but also impacts the sense of pride and ownership the community has in its new infrastructure.
While the incident has not yet been reported to police, Council is calling on members of the public to come forward with any information that may assist in identifying those responsible.
Council urge anyone who witnessed the vandalism or has further information, to contact the police.
