Greater Shepparton City Council, in partnership with the Carols by Candlelight Committee, is inviting the community to help celebrate 50 years of the much-loved tradition by sharing photographs and footage from past events.
In Summary
This year marks the 50th edition of Shepparton’s Carols by Candlelight, making it the perfect opportunity to celebrate the personalities and talents that have contributed to the festive event over the years.
Council is encouraging residents to be part of the milestone by submitting their photos and videos for a chance to have them featured in a special slideshow during the celebration, as well as on social media, and in editorial articles.
Council’s Director Sustainable Development, Geraldine Christou, encouraged the community to come forward and share their Carols by Candlelight experiences.
“Carols by Candlelight is a beautiful tradition that brings the Shepparton community together and Council is excited to celebrate this 50th anniversary by revisiting the wonderful moments and people who have made this event so special”, she said.
“This festivity brings our community together. It’s about family, friends and good times, and we would love to see people getting involved in making this 50th event extra special.”
Anyone wishing to contribute is invited to fill out the submission form on the Shaping Greater Shepp website or visit Customer Service at the Greater Shepparton City Council offices, 90 Welsford Street, Shepparton.
Photo and footage submissions close at 4pm on Friday 1 November 2024. For more information visit Council’s website or contact Council’s Festival and Events Officer on (03) 5832 9540.
