Greater Shepparton celebrates Seniors Festival 2025 this October
Posted on
Wednesday 10th of September, 2025,
Victoria’s largest Seniors Festival returns in October 2025 and Greater Shepparton City Council is encouraging older residents to get involved.
From Wednesday 1 October until Friday 31 October, a wide range of events and activities designed for older residents will be on offer as part of the state-wide and local 2025 Seniors Festival Program.
This year’s Festival theme of ‘Connect. Create. Celebrate.’ highlights the importance of building social connections, trying new activities, and recognising the valuable contribution seniors make to our community.
Seniors make up almost a quarter of the Greater Shepparton population and are recognised for their skills, experience and ongoing contribution to the region.
Greater Shepparton City Council Mayor, Councillor Shane Sali, said the Festival is an opportunity to recognise and celebrate seniors across the community.
“Our senior community members play such an important role in Greater Shepparton, contributing their knowledge, time and experience across so many areas of our region,” he said.
“The Seniors Festival is a chance to celebrate that contribution while also offering opportunities for people to connect, learn and enjoy everything the program has to offer. I encourage residents to take part in the activities throughout October.”
Council’s Director Community, Stacey East, encouraged seniors to take part in this year’s program.
“Council has worked closely with local organisations, groups and businesses to deliver the Greater Shepparton Seniors Festival Event Guide,” she said.
“The Festival is a great opportunity for older members of the community to connect with each other, discover creative opportunities and celebrate their achievements and contribution to Greater Shepparton.”
A hard copy of the Guide can be collected from Greater Shepparton City Council’s offices from Monday 29 September 2025. The Guide will be also distributed as an insert in the Shepparton Adviser on Wednesday 24 September and in the Shepparton News on Friday 26 September 2025.
As part of this year’s Festival, Council in partnership with the Victorian Seniors Festival will host a special concert at Riverlinks Eastbank.
