The Shepparton Regional Saleyards cattle pavilion extension was officially opened by Greater Shepparton City Council Mayor Cr Dinney Adem on Tuesday 30 August.
Construction started in 2015 with the demolition of the old pig pens, the construction of the new roof to match the existing roof line, then the design and construction of new pens, agent’s overhead walkways, raised buyer walkways and forcing yard.
The $1.3m project was funded entirely by the saleyards.
The next stage of the project is the installation of 10 water tanks to harvest rainfall from the new sheds to be used to water the animals and in the truck wash and further reducing the use of potable water on site.
