Greater Shepparton City Council invites local residents to nominate for the Greater Shepparton Women’s Charter Advisory Committee (GSWCAC), with applications closing on Friday 5 September 2025.
The GSWCAC is a volunteer committee providing advice to Council on matters related to gender equity, leadership, recognition, and the wellbeing of women in Greater Shepparton. The committee also contributes significantly to the development and implementation of the Greater Shepparton Women’s Charter Action Plan.
The GSWCAC actively promote and champion the Greater Shepparton Women’s Charter Women’s Award, alongside promoting and providing advice on activities like Council’s International Women’s Day Community Grants Program.
Mayor, Councillor Shane Sali, said joining the committee is a rewarding opportunity to contribute to the future of the community.
“The Women’s Charter Advisory Committee is an important avenue for community members to share their perspectives and ensure that women’s voices are part of shaping local decisions,” he said.
Chair of the Committee, Councillor Sam Spinks, said the Women’s Charter Advisory Committee plays an essential role in strengthening equality across the region.
“This committee provides an important platform for women to share their knowledge, skills and experiences, helping to shape decisions that impact our community,” she said.
