The application period for the PAWS Program is entering its final week, with submissions closing on Monday 31 March 2025.
In Summary
Through the PAWS Program, vulnerable and disadvantaged community members will have the opportunity to get their cat de-sexed, microchipped, nail trimmed, and registered for a reduced fee of just $20.
Greater Shepparton City Council is pleased to assist 40 residents who meet the below eligibility criteria.
Community members can apply online before Monday 31 March 2025. Successful applicants will be contacted and required to pay the $20 fee before booking their cat’s de-sexing procedure. Procedures will be carried out between April and May 2025.
The PAWS Program has been operating since mid-2024 and delivered in partnership with the local Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH).
Mayor, Councillor Shane Sali, encouraged residents to apply and to share this opportunity with those who may benefit.
“The PAWS Program is a fantastic initiative that helps prevent unwanted litters while supporting vulnerable community members to provide the best care for their pets,” he said.
“We encourage eligible residents to apply and share this information with those who could benefit from this wonderful program. Applications close soon, and there are only 40 places available.”
The PAWS Program is supported by the Victorian Government. Tap here for more information and to apply.
