It’s A Wonder Filled Summer: Shop local, share the joy and win this Christmas

Greater Shepparton City Council is encouraging residents to share the joy this Christmas, support local and go in the draw to win through the Shop Local Christmas competition.

In Summary

  • Support local and win big this Christmas – Shop at any small business in Greater Shepparton, spend $50 or more, and enter the draw to win a $2,000 or one of two $500 local business vouchers.
  • Enter online with your receipt – Simply upload a photo of your receipt to shepp.city/xmaswin
    for your chance to win. One entry per receipt.
  • Competition runs 1 to 23 December 2025 – Winners will be announced on 20 January 2026 via Council’s Facebook and Instagram stories.
  • Part of the Wonder Filled Summer campaign – This initiative celebrates the festive season with community activities, decorations and events that spread local cheer and support the economy.

Running from Monday 1 December to Tuesday 23 December 2025, the competition gives shoppers the chance to enter the draw to win either one (1) $2,000 local business voucher, or one (1) of two (2) $500 local business vouchers, simply by spending locally this Christmas.

To enter, shoppers need to spend $50 or more at any small business within the Greater Shepparton Local Government Area, take a photo of their receipt, and upload it at shepp.city/xmaswin with their details.

Each receipt must be uploaded individually, with one entry permitted per receipt, meaning every purchase gives participants another chance to win.

Mayor, Councillor Shane Sali, said shopping local during the festive season is one of the best ways residents can support the region.

“Every time you shop local, you’re helping a small business, supporting local jobs, and investing in our community,” he said.

“This competition is a great reminder that even small purchases can make a big difference and this year, they could also make you a winner.”

Council’s Place Manager, Bonnie McIntosh, said the initiative rewards the community for choosing to shop close to home.

“When you buy local, you’re not just ticking off your Christmas list, you’re backing the people and families who contribute so much to our region,” she said.

“It’s a simple and meaningful way to celebrate the season and keep our economy strong.”

Winners will be announced on Tuesday 20 January 2026 via Council’s Facebook and Instagram stories and contacted directly by phone.
