Greater Shepparton City Council is preparing to spread festive cheer with the launch of ‘A Wonder Filled Summer’ campaign.
In Summary
The campaign will see towns across Greater Shepparton come alive with festive decorations, community activities, and opportunities for residents to shop local, explore the Christmas Trail and take part in family-friendly fun throughout December.
Mayor, Councillor Shane Sali, said the campaign continues to grow each year, bringing the community together through shared celebration and local pride.
“Christmas is such a special time of year, and our campaign captures that magic while showcasing the creativity and community spirit of our region,” he said.
Greater Shepparton Christmas Trail
Greater Shepparton’s streets, parks and public spaces will once again sparkle with vibrant decorations, transforming towns across the municipality into festive destinations for families to explore.
This year’s displays will feature a mix of returning favourites and new installations, with highlights including Leeroy the Teddy Bear and Celine the giant bauble at Victoria Park Lake, Bernard the Gingerbread Man and festive stars at Ferrari Park in Mooroopna, and giant Santas across towns such as Dookie, Murchison and Tatura. More festive features are awaiting to be discovered along the Christmas Trail throughout Greater Shepparton.
A launch event at Victoria Park Lake will be held on Friday 28 November 2025 from 6.00pm to 9.00pm showcasing the completed displays to the public. The evening will include free kids’ activities delivered by Activities in the Park, along with local food trucks and more. Mayor, Cr Shane Sali, will officially light up the decorations at 8.15pm.
Mooroopna’s decorations at Ferrari Park will also be celebrated with a launch event on Saturday 29 November 2025 from 6.00pm to 9.00pm highlighting the township’s glowing stars and festive features as part of the Christmas Trail.
Residents are encouraged to visit all decoration locations throughout December using the Christmas Trail Map. Get your physical copy inside the Shepparton Adviser on Wednesday 26 November 2025 or access the digital version online by visiting the A Wonder Filled Summer webpage. The Trail Map invites the community to discover each town’s unique festive displays and the many community activities taking place.
Santa on the Move Pop-Up Activations
As part of a series of mobile Christmas themed events, Santa and his elves will be travelling to various locations across Greater Shepparton throughout December, spreading holiday magic with pop-up activities including crafts, games, face painting, and photo opportunities.
Families can follow the festive trail map available on the A Wonder Filled Summer webpage to join the fun and capture their own Santa photos or ‘Elfie selfies’.

Community gift wrapping will also be available in the Shepparton CBD at City Central Arcade between Thursday 11 December to Wednesday 24 December from 10.00am to 4.00pm. Local community groups will deliver the service, with gold coin donations supporting the group wrapping that week.
Adding to the festive spirit, live music will be performed on the Maude Street Precinct stage on Saturdays and Sundays in December from 10am to 1pm.
As part of the festivities, Santa’s Mailbox will return to the Wyndham Street Post Office, where children can post their letters to Santa. This year, Australia Post will provide a hard copy response, adding even more magic to the experience. The initiative will be available until Christmas Day.
