Donate pre-loved boots and help local kids stay in the game

Council is inviting the community to donate pre-loved football boots to help local families ahead of the winter sports season.

  • Council is collecting pre-loved soccer, AFL and rugby boots in good condition to support local children and young people ahead of the winter sports season.
  • Donations can be dropped off at Shepparton Sports Stadium or Aquamoves between 10am and 4pm until Thursday 30 April 2026.

  • Delivered in collaboration with Kick It Forward and the Shepparton Junior Soccer Association, the program aims to make sport more accessible for local families.

In collaboration with Kick It Forward and Shepparton Junior Soccer Association, Council is collecting soccer, AFL and rugby boots in good, wearable condition to redistribute to children and young people across Greater Shepparton.

Boot donations can be dropped off at Shepparton Sports Stadium or Aquamoves between 10am and 4pm from now until Thursday 30 April 2026.

The initiative will culminate in a free Boot Swap event, where families can donate, swap or collect a pair of boots.

Boot Swap Event Details

  • Date: Saturday 2 May 2026
  • Time: 9am - 3pm
  • Location: Shepparton Sports Precinct - Main Pavilion

Mayor, Councillor Shane Sali, said the Boot Swap aims to make sport more accessible for local families.

“Sport plays a vital role in our region. It builds confidence, friendships and a strong sense of belonging,” he said.

“We understand that families are facing increasing costs, and sporting equipment can be expensive, particularly when children quickly outgrow their boots.”

“This Boot Swap is about neighbours helping neighbours. By donating boots your children no longer need, you are helping another young person take the field this season.”

Council is encouraging sporting clubs, schools and families to get involved by donating boots or spreading the word.

Limited supplies will be available at the event and families are encouraged to arrive early.
