Greater Shepparton City Council is thrilled to welcome new Swim Instructors to Aquamoves Swim School after the recent Swimming Instructor Recruitment Day, held at Aquamoves Lakeside Shepparton on Tuesday 23 July 2024.
In Summary
As part of its commitment to providing comprehensive water safety education in the community, Council designed the Swimming Instructor Recruitment Day to streamline the application process and make a career in swim teaching more accessible to interested individuals.
A total of 16 individuals attended the event, which offered a relaxed, nurturing and inclusive environment that made it easy for attendees to engage in informal conversations with Council staff and fast-track the recruitment process.
Council's Aquamoves Centre Manager, Steven Wilson, expressed his excitement at the prospect of welcoming individuals to the team.
"Our recruitment day was a great success and we're thrilled to welcome so many passionate individuals to our team. Swimming Instructors play a pivotal role in our mission to create a safer aquatic environment for our community,” Mr Wilson said.
Aquamoves Programs and Education Coordinator, Liliana Angeles, said the event demonstrates Aquamoves commitment to ensuring an exceptional standard of water safety skills in our community.
“We are grateful for initiatives like these that help us attract enthusiastic individuals keen to learn the ropes of becoming a Swimming Instructor. The success of the recruitment day demonstrates the community's eagerness to learn and develop new skills. We look forward to welcoming them to our team,” she said.
The event was also praised by attendees for its relaxed and informal atmosphere, ease of understanding and the clear information provided. Participants said they appreciated the valuable insights into the Aquatic Education industry and the opportunity to learn from the experienced team at Aquamoves.
Council looks forward to training and on-boarding the new instructors, covering the costs of their swimming instructor courses and providing shadow hours to assist in obtaining their swimming instructor licences. Successful candidates will join Aquamoves Swim School to help continue the important mission of teaching today for a safer tomorrow.
Council remains dedicated to providing ongoing support for those who aspire to become Swimming Instructors. Anyone who missed the recruitment day and is interested in a career in swim teaching, is encouraged to get in touch by emailing council@shepparton.vic.gov.au.
