Community invited to shape concept design for Greater Shepparton Bike Jump Park

Greater Shepparton City Council is inviting community feedback on the concept design for a new bike jump park in Mooroopna, which promises to deliver a fun, challenging, and progressive riding experience for people of all ages and skill levels.

The proposed facility, to be located at the former Mooroopna Harness Racing Club site (corner of Midland Highway and Elsie Jones Drive), has been designed by World Trail Pty Ltd, who bring extensive experience creating high-quality recreational cycling infrastructure across Australia and internationally.

The draft concept design outlines a tiered jump park with separate lines for beginner, intermediate, and advanced riders. The park is intended to be a welcoming, safe, and inclusive space where local riders can learn new skills, progress their abilities, and enjoy time outdoors.

Mayor, Councillor Shane Sali, said the project reflected Council’s continued investment in active transport, sport, and recreation infrastructure.

“This project is part of Council’s broader goal to provide engaging, outdoor recreational opportunities for our growing and diverse community,” he said.

“We know there is a strong appetite among local riders, especially young people, for high-quality jump tracks and progressive skill-building spaces. This concept design reflects those needs, and we now want to hear the community’s thoughts before moving into detailed design.”

A recent community drop-in session was also held, giving locals the chance to speak with Council officers and the design team in person.

Council is now seeking feedback on the draft concept design via the Shaping Greater Shepp website, with submissions open until midnight on Friday 14 November 2025. Residents are encouraged to share their ideas, suggestions or questions to help refine the final design.

Cr Kieron Eddy, Lower Goulburn Ward, said the development was an exciting project for the Mooroopna and surrounding communities.

“Our goal is to deliver a facility that sets the standard for regional bike jump parks. This is a unique opportunity to create a riding destination that reflects the needs and ideas of our local community,” he said.
