Greater Shepparton City Council noted the Annual Report 2022/23 for Council’s 17 Community Asset Committees at its July Council Meeting held on Tuesday 23 July 2024.
The Annual Report provides a summary of achievements and actions of each of the Community Asset Committees (CAC) and confirms the commitment of Council in supporting the volunteers who make up each CAC.
Each CAC comprises of a group of dedicated volunteers who contribute their time and expertise to operating some of Council’s community facilities. Council’s Community Wellbeing team aims to ensure that the CAC are supported to meet their requirements and are assisted with promotion and recruitment to attract new members.
Council currently has 17 CAC which have been delegated to manage specific Council owned community facilities and recreation reserves across the region. The Annual Report 2022/23 highlights the key achievements for each committee during the financial year, along with outlining their future goals for the facility.
Mayor, Councillor Shane Sali, said Council was extremely pleased to support the work of these important committees each year.
“Our Community Asset Committees give community members a great sense of pride and involvement in their local area,” he said.
“It is always great to see these reports come out which detail the fantastic work and upgrades that have occurred over the year for each committee.”
The next CAC Annual Report for the 2023/24 financial year is due to be presented to Council by July 2025.
A summary of the key achievements of each Community Asset Committee is included below.
