Boot Swap almost here supporting local families and players this sporting season

Friday 24th of April, 2026,
Greater Shepparton City Council is reminding the community that the Boot Swap is fast approaching, giving local families a simple way to access sporting gear and help more young people stay involved in sport.
The free community initiative will take place on Saturday 2 May 2026 from 9am to 3pm at the Shepparton Sports Precinct Main Pavilion.
The Boot Swap gives families the chance to donate, swap or collect pre-loved football boots, supporting children and young people across Greater Shepparton as the winter sports season begins.
Mayor, Councillor Shane Sali, said the upcoming Boot Swap is a chance for the community to come together and support local families.
“Sport plays a vital role in our region. It builds confidence, friendships and a strong sense of belonging,” he said.
“This is a simple way to make a real difference. By donating boots your family no longer needs, you are helping another young player take the field this season.”
Council is encouraging families, clubs and schools to get involved, with donations still being accepted in the lead up to and on the day of the Boot Swap.
Pre-loved boots in good, wearable condition can be dropped off at Aquamoves and Shepparton Sports Stadium between 10am and 4pm until Thursday 30 April 2026.
Delivered in partnership with Kick It Forward and Shepparton Junior Soccer Association, the initiative helps reduce costs for families while strengthening community connection through sport.
Limited supplies will be available on the day and families are encouraged to arrive early.
