Greater Shepparton City Council is excited to announce that the Division 2 Australian Flying Disc (Frisbee) Association (AFDA) Championships will return to the region in 2025, running from Friday 11 to Sunday 13 April 2025.
The tournament is expected to draw 30 to 40 teams from across the nation, with approximately 600 competitors and officials participating in the three-day event.
This event demonstrates the confidence the Ultimate Frisbee community has in the state-of-the-art facilities at Shepparton Sports City, with a two-year partnership secured to host the championships in the region for both 2025 and 2026.
Mayor, Councillor Shane Sali expressed his enthusiasm for the event’s return, highlighting the benefits it brings to the region.
“We are very excited to welcome Australia’s top Ultimate Frisbee athletes back to Greater Shepparton after a very successful visit in 2022 and 2024. The Championships will see the very best male and female competitors using their strength and agility to sprint, leap and throw their way to victory – a lot more thrilling than your average backyard or park game,” he said.
AFDA Chief Executive Officer, Maxwell Gratton encouraged local residents to attend the event and witness the excitement of Ultimate Frisbee at a national level.
“The Australian Flying Disc Association (AFDA) is delighted to be back at Shepparton’s Sports City Precinct to host the 2025 Australian Ultimate Championships Division 2. There will be many great matches to see. It will be a great opportunity to witness the excitement of Ultimate Frisbee,” he said.
