COUNCIL MEETING - FEBRUARY 2025

A Council Meeting will be held on Tuesday 25 February 2025 at 3:00pm. The meeting will be held in the Council Boardroom, 90 Welsford Street, Shepparton.

The meeting will be open to members of the public to attend. A live stream of the meeting will also be made available, and can be accessed via Council's Facebook page.

All care is taken to maintain your privacy; however, as a visitor in the public gallery, it is assumed that your consent is given in the event that your image is broadcast to the public. It is also assumed that your consent is given to the use and disclosure of any information that you share at the meeting (including personal or sensitive information) to any person who access those recordings or Minutes.

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR APPOINTMENT TO SHEPPARTON SHOWGROUNDS ADVISORY COMMITTEE

Greater Shepparton City Council is calling for applications from interested people to fill between five and ten positions on the Shepparton Showgrounds Advisory Committee.

Those with an interest in the Shepparton Showgrounds are encouraged to apply. Community representatives will be appointed for a period of two years and meetings are held quarterly (or at other times as determined necessary by the Committee).

Written applications for appointment to the Advisory Board will be received by the Council until 5.00pm, Monday 24 March 2025.

CHANGE TO TRAFFIC CONDITIONS - SUMMER CITY MARKET

Greater Shepparton City Council would like to advise of the following traffic changes for the Summer City Market event on Friday 21 and Saturday 22 February.

Maude Street will be closed to traffic between Fryers Street and High Street, from 6am on Friday 21 February and re-open at 4.30pm Saturday 22 February.

These changes are to ensure safety of all persons attending the Summer City Market.

NOTICE OF AN APPLICATION FOR PLANNING PERMIT

The land affected by the application is located at 13 Blossom Way, Shepparton East.

The proposal is for the removal of building restriction and covenant on PS513610.

The application and any supporting documents can be viewed on the Greater Shepparton City Council’s website. 

Any person who may be affected by the granting of the permit may object or make other submissions to Greater Shepparton City Council via Council’s website.  Objections must be in writing via Council’s website and must state the reasons for the objection and how you would be affected by the granting of a permit for the application.

Greater Shepparton City Council will not decide on the application before 2 March 2025.

If you object, the Responsible Authority will notify you of its decision.

DOOKIE RECREATION RESERVE AND COMMUNITY CENTRE COMMUNITY ASSET COMMITTEE AGM

Notice is given of the Annual General Meeting to be held at the Dookie Recreation Reserve and Community Centre, 20-50 Dookie Street, Dookie on Monday, 17 February 2025, commencing at 7:30pm.

The purpose of these meetings is to:

2. confirm Minutes of previous Annual General Meeting
3. receive and adopt the Annual Report
4. receive and adopt the Audited Annual Financial Statement
5. confirm fees and charges for the coming year
6. review Maintenance Grant Expenditure
7. review the Facility Improvement Plan

9. review User Agreements
10. review Certificates of Currency – Public Liability and Contents Insurance
11. undertake a Building Maintenance Assessment Checklist
12. review Contents Inventory, and
13. elect office bearers to the positions of Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer and other positions determined by the Committee as being necessary for the efficient running of the Committee.

Planning Permit Application 2016-443

Overview

The amendment seeks to rezone 100 Ryans Road, Dookie from the Farming Zone to Low Density Zone to facilitate the development of the site for low density residential purposes.

The application is for a permit to subdivide 100 Ryans Road, Dookie.

Details of the amendment

The amendment proposes to rezone 13.45 hectares of land located at 100 Ryans Road, Dookie being Lot 2 on PS712899 and all the land on Certificate of Title Volume 11572 Folio 135X currently zoned Farming Zone to Low Density Residential Zone to facilitate the development of the site for low density residential purposes.

The amendment is required to facilitate the orderly expansion of Dookie to the south in accordance with the findings and recommendations of the Greater Shepparton Housing Strategy 2011 (Housing Strategy). The Housing Strategy identifies 100 Ryans Road as potential low density development.

The application is for a permit to subdivide the land into eleven lots.

The applicant for the permit is Chris Smith & Associates Pty Ltd, on behalf of BR Montgomery.

Any person may make a submission to the planning authority about the amendment. Submissions must be made in writing giving the submitter’s name and contact address, clearly stating the grounds on which the amendment is supported or opposed and indicating what changes (if any) the submitter wishes to make.

Name and contact details of submitters are required for the planning authority to consider submissions and to notify such persons of the opportunity to attend planning authority meetings and any public hearing held to consider submissions.

The closing date for submissions is 5pm, Friday 7 March 2025. A submission must be sent to the Greater Shepparton City Council, Locked Bag 1000, Shepparton VIC 3632.

ADJUSTED DEVELOPMENT CONTRIBUTION RATES FOR THE SHEPPARTON NORTH EAST PRECINCT

The development contribution rates for the Shepparton North East Precinct are adjusted annually for the duration of the Shepparton North East Development Contributions Plan. The following rates were adjusted on 13 November 2024 and are applicable from 1 July 2024 to 30 June 2025. These rates should be read in conjunction with Schedule 4 to the Development Contributions Plan Overlay in the Greater Shepparton Planning Scheme.
