The sound of music could be heard coming from every corner of the Eastbank Centre today, with rehearsals for Tuesday night's Orchestra Victoria mOVe Showcase in full swing.
Greater Shepparton’s up–and-coming orchestral musicians spent the day in various tutorials with professional players of Orchestra Victoria.
“For ‘On the mOVe!’ we invite students in each town to be part of a full orchestra, rehearse under the baton of a professional conductor, and be mentored by top musicians in small group tutorials. This is a unique chance for young players to work on their technique, improve their skills, and explore new repertoire,” said John Noble, OV Violinist and foundation On the mOVe! Tutor.
“We have an exciting and ambitious regional program planned for 2015. The Orchestra Victoria musicians are proud to be continuing to bring music of the highest quality to people across Victoria in our most ambitious regional tour in many years. This tour feels like an exciting and significant next step for all of us, and reflects the optimism among Orchestra Victoria’s talented players, as we start this next exciting chapter in our 45 year history,” said OV Concertmaster Roger Jonsson.
Although Tuesday night's concert is a free event, bookings are essential and available online now through the Riverlinks Box Office
On the mOVe! Shepparton is proudly supported by our Principal Regional Partner, Bendigo Bank, The William Buckland Foundation and the Greater Shepparton City Council.
