Many young people in Shepparton have attended Excell, the local dance studio to learn to dance and help their social life.
One such youngster joined his brothers and sisters at the studio but could never have imagined that this would lead to a successful National and International career as a dancer.
Shepparton’s Jeremy Garner developed into one of Australia’s best Ballroom dancers who has been an Australian Dance sport finalist six times. He was assistant choreographer to his sister (Amanda) the winner of “Dancing with the stars”.
On the world stage he has been an Australian representative to the World Dance Sport championships on three occasions.
Jeremy’s brilliance has seen him join top International dance presentations. He performed in “Strictly come dancing” in the U.K. and had multiple world tours with the world renowned “Burn the Floor” dance team which was the only Ballroom show to perform on Broadway and in 2009 and in London’s West End in 2010.
In Australia we have seen him perform on Dancing with the stars.
On learning of his wife’s (dance partner) hip condition which would affect her dancing he returned home and bought Pivot Dance Studio in Melbourne whilst also teaching dancing in Shepparton.
Since then he has trained multiple Australian champions in various divisions including the Blackpool Masters champion (the most prestigious competition in the world).
Jeremy is a professional dancer on Australia’s Dancing with the stars.
Jeremy has also become an adjudicator for dance competitions.
Some of Shepparton’s Debutantes have been lucky enough to have been trained by our very own world renowned dancer.
When one thinks about Dancing with the stars, The City of Greater Shepparton now pays tribute to a “star”, a young man who lived his dream of being a world class dancer and has represented our City with class and brilliance around the world.
Jeremy Garner is now inducted into the Honour roll of Sports Hall of Fame.
