Seniors Festival 2026
Greater Shepparton City Council was pleased to support the 2025 Victorian Seniors Festival in October 2025.
Victoria’s largest seniors’ festival returns from 1 - 31 October each year, with thousands of opportunities for older Victorians to take part in free and low-cost entertainment and events across the state.
The theme last year was – ‘Connect. Create. Celebrate.’ – encouraging older Victorians to stay curious and connected by exploring new activities, meeting new people, and changing how we think of ageing.
Great Shepparton Seniors Festival has a a bumper festival planned for 2026, offering a wide variety of events and activities locally for residents to participate in.
About the Festival
The Victorian Government, through the Office for Senior Victorians in the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing, coordinates the Festival and works closely with all 79 Victorian local councils.
Greater Shepparton City Council and the Greater Shepparton Positive Ageing Advisory Committee has worked with community and organisations to coordinate and promote live events to return this October across Greater Shepparton.
Starting Wednesday 1 and finishing Friday 31 October, the Seniors Festival 2025 will feature a wide variety of events and activities designed for older residents in Greater Shepparton.
Seniors represent 25% of the Greater Shepparton population and are recognised and valued for their wide range of skills and experience. Council is looking forward to celebrating the senior community through leading and partnering on a range of activities.
Would your club or organisation like to host an event or offer a special for seniors?
We are encouraging clubs and organisations to consider offering a variety of opportunities for seniors, like:
- open days
- various sport ‘come and try’ days
- afternoon teas with a talk
- events in our small towns and communities
- trivia events
- silo art tours
- film afternoons
- high tea
- river heritage walks
- concerts
- bus trips to other towns or tourist attractions
